	Since we last visited via this newsletter, God has continued to expand and grow the impact and influence of Shepherd’s Heart Ministry around the world. SE Asia, Israel, and Mexico are the next frontiers for the establishment of crisis retreat centers to minister to pastors, missionaries and ministry leaders in a fresh new global outreach. And, you our partners and friends have made it possible as you play out the vision that God has placed in your hearts for hurting leaders. Life is particularly difficult in communist countries with the underground church. Pastors regularly disappear leaving their families with no knowledge of whether they are alive or dead . . . persecuted for the cause of Christ. Others, who come from all over the world, often lead desperate lives of pain because they have no one to talk to many times leading to their departure from the mission field filled with the pain of bitter disappointment and disillusionment that can haunt them for a lifetime. God is using Shepherds Heart Ministry to provide a ray of hope for them and others in all of SE Asia. Eric and Rachel Dufour, pastors from France and now missionaries for eight years in Laos, are joining their hearts and lives with SHM to provide counseling services for pastors, missionaries, and leaders in Laos and Thailand. We have been working with them for one year as we have both sought the will of God in this matter and are now excited as they have moved to Denver to train with us for two years and then return to establish a Shepherds Heart Ministry counseling center in SE Asia. What a step of faith for them to leave everything, and bring their five boys to America to fulfill the call on their lives to heal the broken lives of leaders. They arrived in the US on July 23, 2008 with just suitcases in hand and within a week were living in a four bedroom house rent-free for one year completely furnished with both new and used furniture lovingly donated by partners who just wanted to bless them. They were handed the keys to a seven-passenger suburban at the airport for their transportation needs, taken on shopping sprees to buy the necessary accessory items to furnish a house, and incubated in the love of caring hearts – what a God we serve! The lake outside our retreat center in Canada has finally calmed for the night as we prepare for another intensive with a broken pastoral couple. We just said goodbye to another couple as we watched God transform their brokenness into hope and joy for a future filled with falling in love with Jesus again. Week after week, they come broken and week after week they leave with the words of the prophet echoing in their ears when he said in Jer. 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” May God continue to bless all of you as we, together, touch a hurting world by bringing hope and restoration to their leaders!
